I have been a tutor for many years, with great success, including as a father of three. I love the "Aha!" moments when the light bulb goes on, and the student becomes happier and more confident. Having knowledge is great, but that's only half the teaching equation. It's at least as important to be a good communicator, to really get to know a student in order to optimize the approach.
